Reproductive Health Advocacy
Project among Young People

About RHAP

The Reproductive Health Advocacy Project (RHAP) is a 5-year advocacy project targeting young people, with the purpose of advocating for access to Sexual and Reproductive Health information and services and universal health coverage for young people. The project is being implemented in Nkhotakota and Chikhwawa with support from PAI.  It provides a health policy landscape and cultural context knowledge which is essential in shaping the advocacy work. The project employs a SMART advocacy approach as the main driving strategy to achieve the following objectives:

  • Identify and train youth groups in SMART advocacy and social accountability on SRHR
  • Support trained youth advocates to provide basic SRHR services to peers and advocate to health care providers for access where required
  • Support Youth Advocates to identify lessons and issues for presentation to duty bearers
