Pakachere seeks to increase the number of Malawians who practice malaria preventive behaviors including sleeping under a treated mosquito net and seeking early medical care by supporting individuals, families as well as community members to practice malaria preventive behaviors. This includes messages on how to prevent spread of malaria through hygiene and sanitation, and also addressing myths surrounding cultural and traditional beliefs in use of prevention methods such as use of ITNs. Pakachere will also mobilize communities to seek treatment for malaria and ensure availability of malaria treatment in health facilities. Further to that, Pakachere aims at supporting development and effective implementation of malaria SBC strategies at district level which should result in strengthened SBC systems at district and community levels.
